Creating an event

Volunteers for events include workers, setup helpers, cleanup helpers, and food providers.

When you create/edit an event, set the maximum number of people who can sign up for each of these positions.

The event page

Users of every type (students, parents, staff) will see the event name, description, location, etc as before.

Below that, if volunteer positions were specified when the event was created/edited, then it will also show how many people have signed up for each type of job.

Scroll down to the bottom, and you'll see lots more information, including a list of the people who have signed up for each type of job, and the people who RSVP'd No.  If it's a workday event, it will also show the people who have already arrived.

In the middle of the page, is the RSVP section.  Any user can RSVP yes or no, and change their response.  If there are any spots left to volunteer for, they may also sign up for any/all of the positions that are not already filled.

In this case, there are spots left for food & cleanup, and this user was already signed up for the cleanup crew.

Monitor signups

As the event approaches, all you have to do is check the event page to see if all of the spots have been filled.

At this point, no notifications are sent to staff members regarding the status of an approaching event, but it is something that we could look at adding.
